Leatherique Dye Ordering

Leatherique offers three levels of dye service.

Level 1 - Standard Colors:  For projects where a specific color is not needed, we offer Leatherique Standard Dye colors.  Our list of available colors can be found at this link.  Simply visit our Shop and choose from one of four different size Standard Dye Kits and select the right color for your project from the pull down menu.  If you have questions about the appropriate size kit, please contact us.

Level 2 - OEM Colors:  We have several thousand automotive OEM dye colors on file.  Email us your year make and model along with the size of your project and we will help you with the appropriate sized dye kit and color.  The dye you will receive will likely be a slightly different shade than your current color due to wear and fading of your leather over time, and due to color variation in the vehicle manufacturing process.

Level 3 - Dye matching:  Send us a 1x1 inch (25x25mm) swatch of leather and we will match it.  The best place to cut your swatch is from underneath your car seat or piece of furniture.  Process:

1. Send the swatch to us at our address.
2. We will contact you to discuss your project and identify the correct kit.
3. We will make your customized dye.
4. You will receive a link for payment.
5. We ship your your dye. 

Leather Dying - How to

Complete and detailed leather dye instructions can be found here.  The quick overview of the steps involved are as follows:

1. Vacuum the leather to remove large particles of dirt
2. Apply Leatherique Rejuvenator liberally, allowing 24 hours for Rejuvenator to soak in. This step moisturizes the leather and forces out dirt, skin oils, and other contaminates out of the leather.
3. Clean with Leatherique Prestine Clean and a soft towel.
4. Light sanding with Leatherique Prepping Agent and 600 grit sandpaper.
5. Crack filling with Leatherique Crack Filler (optional)
6. Dye application
7. Buff with a clean soft towel.
